Cranky and in a bad mood kind of people is what you expect to find in a place where the winter last almost all year and when the summer comes they have no nights, right? Wrong. People here are very friendly and warm. They are ready to help and answer the most stupid questions and a very talkative.
My first day in Fairbanks was rather calm. After sleeping in I went for a walk. First stop was the visitor center. Gather a bunch of information and went to some shopping to get ready for my dream night. Got a tripod, mittens (yes i forgot mine), hand/feet warmers and snacks. The day was beautiful. Very sunny, not even a single could in the sky. All I need now is that the clouds stay away. The aurora active forecast for tonight is very high. So now just crossing the fingers.
Sounds fantastic! I can't wait for you to post pics!
ReplyDeleteSo far things don't look good for my dream Manu :(
ReplyDeleteThe lights activity is really high but it is very cloudy... But who knows? things can always change here... I will keep trying :)

ReplyDeleteAwesome, I hope you get to see them! :) ... I saw them here in Calgary once. The green lights were phenomenal something out of this world. I'm sure that what I saw might not come close to what you might see in Alaska, though. ..enjoy your time in Alaska and I can't wait to read about it. .. Oh and I think you should really start posting pictures in this blog of yours :p

ReplyDeleteYAY!! im soo happy you got to see them!! it would have been a shame to go all the way there and not to. Glad, you had a great time in Alaska.
where are you heading next?
lol... I am so in love with them... I want to see again next year... as per next month I am going to Thailand/Cambodia... I will start organizing, next week... have you been there?
ReplyDeleteNext month?!?... How do you get all this time off work? .. No, I have not been to either of those place, but they are on my list. I would love to go to Cambodia to visit Angkor wat. It looks amazing! Thailand has so many amazing looking temples. If your into that look up the ' white temple' and the wat pho temple. And while in Thailand make sure you don't leave with out trying the fried tarantula. Apparently, they sell them in bunch at the markets, it a very well known snack.
